How do I choose the right magnification?
Most clinicians start between 2.5× and 3.5× for general work and move to 4×–6× for detailed procedures. Higher magnification shows finer detail across a smaller field. The Ergo Switch family gives you three magnifications in one loupe. At your fitting we let you try each power before you choose.
What is working distance and why does it matter?
Working distance is the distance from your eyes to the patient while you sit or stand in a healthy posture. Loupes are focused for that distance, so we measure it at your fitting. Ergo loupes are offered at 450, 500 and 550 mm; the Ergo Glide covers 400–600 mm.
What is the difference between Galilean, Prismatic and Ergo loupes?
Galilean loupes are the lightest and give a wide field at 2.5×–3.5×. Prismatic loupes use prisms for higher magnification, 4.0× and 5.0×. Ergo loupes use refractive optics in an angled housing that lets you keep your head upright, from 3.5× to 8.0×.
How does the Ergo Switch change magnification?
Ergo Switch and Switch Air have three magnifications built into one optical system. A click of the ring (Switch) or a quick turn (Switch Air) changes power without removing or adjusting your loupes.
What warranty do SWAN products have?
SWAN loupes come with a 3-year warranty. The Feather Light headlight comes with a 2-year warranty. Our team supports you with aftercare throughout.
Can I get prescription lenses?
Yes. Frames such as the Sports RX accept prescription lenses. Tell us your prescription at your fitting.
How long does the Feather Light battery last?
Up to 5 hours per battery, with a 45-minute charge. Kits come with 1 or 3 batteries and a dual-charging dock.
Can I be fitted online?
Yes. Wherever you practise, you can book a private online fitting: a one-to-one video consultation with a SWAN specialist, who guides you through your working distance, posture and pupillary distance. We then build your loupes to your measurements and deliver them to your door.
Do you deliver worldwide?
Yes. SWAN serves clinicians worldwide from two headquarters: Dubai, UAE for the Middle East & North Africa, Asia and Europe, and Dallas, Texas for North America, together with trusted local partners. Use Find a distributor or email us at info@swanloupes.com.
